Xiasma Limited will introduce a beta preview version Evagene Clinical software, the first release of the innovative pedigree drawing, risk analysis and clinical decision support tool for geneticists on the 31st March. Xiasma is delivering Evagene Clinical Beta 0.1.0 to enable customers to evaluate the unique functionality and determine how Evagene can make their work easier and more effective.
Focusing on user productivity, Evagene Clinical alone offers Evagene Natural Pedigree Drawing allowing clinicians to draw pedigrees on their computer just as they would on paper. Developed exclusively by Xiasma, pioneers in User Experience, Evagene will permit clinicians greater flexibility in how they create, manage and analyse family tree data without incurring a steep learning curve. Evagene Natural Pedigree Drawing mimics the way genetics professionals work with pedigrees by recognising shapes, lines and gestures and turning hand-drawn diagrams into articulate genetic models and polished presentations. Using the touch-sensitive display of the Evagene Clinical computer, or the mouse of any PC, geneticists can rapidly draw patients and their relationships using industry-standard nomenclature and symbols.

Evagene Clinical uses state-of-the-art analysis from Bayes Mendel to help determine the risk of patients carrying genes responsible for breast, ovarian, pancreatic, endometrial and colorectal cancers as well as calculating subsequent prognoses. This wide range of analytical engines will be available "out of the box" with no configuration required.
People who invest in Evagene will not be abandoning their legacy data as Evagene Clinical can load and save pedigrees in the ubiquitous GEDCOM format and even talk directly to Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and InfoPath. More than 7000 industry and de facto standard symbols and icons help the user to render their diagrams exactly as they intend.
